So I've been reading many users comments, status updates and whatnot regarding use of AI on this site. Before you read any further, know that this journal is not meant to poke the hornets nest in any way but to rather offer some thoughts and criticisms for both sides of the argument. Also, be aware that *all* of the images on my page here are AI-generated and then edited, reworked ad nauseum until I feel there's nothing more I can change or improve. The anti-ai people on deviantart commonly make the argument that AI art requires no artistic skill, is soulless, "samey" and that it makes use of art-theft by directly copying or making training data from artists that did not consent to it. Regarding lacking artistic skill: I would say that in most cases, they are right. Using various methods, tools, prompts or whatever, nearly anyone with a graphics card can theoretically start making it churn out semi-decent pieces at a rather quick pace.
